Raw Hornblende Specimen
Set of 6 Samples, 1″
Hornblende is part of a group of minerals known as amphiboles. These minerals are chemically and structurally similar to pyroxenes, but include water in their atomic structure. Ideal for identification & classification exercises. Hornblende’s perpendicular planes of cleavages make it an excellent tool for studying 2-plane, 90° cleavage.
While each specimen will vary slightly in shape, size and color, it will measure approximately 1″ in length. Set is packaged in a transparent bag, labeled & barcoded for easy identification and storage.
Selected & Processed by a Geologist.
